PC CONFIGURATION OF PARTICIPANTS

In order to minimize lags, cars synchronization and PC's ghosts.  All drivers must have the PRL file optimized.

CONFIGURATION OF PLR FILE

To reduce the lag in multiplayer is obligatory to modify various lines of a particular file with extension PLR that is located inside our game folder; in the directory “Save” we find a find a folder that contains an archive with PLR extension that file is saved inside the player folder.

Example C:\F1 Challenge 99-02\Save\your nickname\your nickname.PLR

Caution, you must do a security copy before editing. This file can be modified using Word pad or Note Pad. (With Note Pad is more comfortable)

The file has a structure divided in sections:

[ Graphic Options ]
[ Game Options ]
[ Multiplayer Options ]

The first thing we are going to modify is [ Graphic Options ] and search the line:

- Shadows="3" (Between the quotes we change the value to "1")
- Special FX="3" (Between the quotes we change the value to "1")
- Max Visible Vehicles="104" (between the quotes we change the value to "4")

Especially interesting  is Max visible vehicles, the program will only try to show information and details of the cars we have really close, forgetting of synchronize “Exactly” cars that are not really close. For example if we have a car to 12” it has no sense to request the server to be attentive to cars that are no really close.

Now we pass to modify the most important thing  [ Multiplayer Options ] ,here are defined the parameters of the connection for the game both for the Host and the client. Modifying the followings lines we will optimize the fluidity, the lag and will avoid disconnection problems and ghost cars. Now we go search the following lines:

- Net Connection Type="1" (Between the quotes we change the value to "4". In the game this option we can find it with the name of “Type of Connection: LAN")

- Multiplayer Enum Type="0" (Between the quotes we change the value to "1". In the game this option we can find it with the name of “Announce Game: Yes")

- Net Data Rate="32" (Between the quotes we change the value to "32").

- Net Data Rate Max="32" (Between the quotes we change the value to "32"). You have to check this option each time when you start the game. f1c set this option sometimes to 12 but i don't know why.  Check frequently

- Net Flush Threshold="472" (Between the quotes we change the value to "1024"). VERY IMPORTANT

- Force Physics="16" (Between the quotes we change the value to "24", this will avoid the cheats in multiplayer mode)

- Max MP Players="16" (Between the quotes we change the value to "24". This line defines the amount of players that can enter to the game)

- Throttling="0" (Between the quotes we change the value to "1". This will activated the regulation code of data in KBPS that is sent to every player to stabilize the connection of the server. For this to be efficient must define the upload speed in the line Throttle Upstream Override in the way that it will be explained below)

- Dedicated Target Rate="512" (Between the quotes we change the value to "128". This reduces the LAG a lot; this is also linked with other important parameters of the connection)

- Throttle Upstream Override="-1"  ( Between the quotes  we put he value of you upload speed of the internet you have, you cant put more speed if you dont have it. To check the speed of upload enter the following site [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] then you click start test to make a test that show you information about your upload speed. Description in Kilobytes of the connection: 2Mb = 2048Kbps / 1 MB = 1024Kbps / 0.5 MB = 512Kbps /  
Example: If the upload speed of your connection is 1.0 MB you must write in Throttle Upstream Override = “1024”
The Value that you assign will give information to the server  about how many resources of connection it have to distribute between his clients. By this way there will be a better distribution of data and avoid much of the LAG



-Collision Threshold=""0.30000" ( Between the quotes we change the value to "0.430"). This will desactivate the gost cars in the server for those driver that have less tan 430ms (Ping)

- Spline Generate DT="0.10000" (Between the quotes we change the value to "0.15000")

- BoneSpring Threshold="0.10000" (Between the quotes we change the value to"1.00000". This will avoid in great part accidents involuntary.  This will give better flow to the connection on track)

- BoneSpring Max Constant="120.00000" (Between the quotes we change the value to  "125.00000"


IMPORTANTE: "after configuring the plr you must no adjust the graphics inside of the game or the optimization will be invalidated" !!!
